Maldives receives several nominations at the World Travel Awards

The Maldives has been nominated once again as the Indian Ocean’s Leading Destination at the World Travel Awards while Male airport, the Maldives’ international airport, has been nominated for Indian Ocean’s Leading Airport at the 16th World Travel Awards which will be held on November 7th, 2009 at the Grosvenor House, AJW Marriot Hotel in London. Last year, the Maldives won the Indian Ocean’s Leading Destination as well as the World’s Most Romantic Destination.

This year’s nominees have been announced on the official website of the World Travel Awards and the winners will be determined by the number of votes they receive.

Competing with Maldives in the Indian Ocean’s Leading Destination category are Madagascar, Comoros, Mauritius, the Seychelles and Sri Lanka.
